Café 22 If you are bouncing around Broadway and looking for a place to eat, Café 22 has you covered.
Under the Pizza Hotline franchise umbrella, Café 22 is easy to get a hold of since they both share the same catchy phone number jingle. The name originated from the Pizza Hotline phone number 222-2222. Both Cianflone and Anastasio also knew they wanted to have “café” in the name, so along with the Pizza Hotline phone number, Café 22 was born. In November 2010, Anastasio opened up the Café 22 Broadway location and the public has been very receptive since then. “We get a good crowd during our lunch and dinner hours,” says Anastasio. “We are hoping to be as successful as we are at our Corydon Avenue location.” With their specialty pizzas, calzones, antipasto dishes, different types of bruchetta and their newly introduced pastas, Café 22 definitely does not disappoint. “Our customers keep coming back for our specialties and dishes, especially our most popular pizzas – the Italian classic and taco pizza,” says Anastasio. The new restaurant has an inviting and modern feel that holds a little over 50 people in the dining room and 35 people in the lounge. The café has large windows for natural lighting, individual black leather seats at every table, a long modern black counter table for the bar area and large leather couches in the lounge. The patio area, which accommodates up to 20 guests during the summer months, is decorated with beautiful potted plants. Like the Corydon Avenue location, Café 22 on Broadway has the same ambience and feel with just a bit of a different look. “I’ve always wanted to have a downtown location and Broadway is a beautiful location to have a restaurant,” says Anastasio. “Downtown is beginning to grow and grow every day and has become very vibrant over the years.” Anastasio, along with his wife, has been in the restaurant industry for over 18 years and continues to expand his franchise. “As long as I have good people who work with me and continue to work with me, I know I can keep going and be successful in the restaurant industry.” Café 22 is also located on Provencher Boulevard, Henderson Highway, Corydon Avenue, and two locations outside the city – Winkler, Manitoba and Calgary, Alberta.

The Café 22 franchise began 11 years ago when owners Jerry Cianflone and Tony Anastasio decided they wanted to open up a lounge in the Corydon area. “We wanted to stick with the feel of Corydon Avenue and build a lounge where people can sit down and enjoy their meal,” says Anastasio. “We also wanted to build the restaurant name around Pizza Hotline.”
