 If anyone knows the stress of planning a wedding, it is L.A Collection owner Vu Luong. That’s why he has simplified the process by creating a one-stop wedding shop. Luong partnered with other wedding services in the city so customers can order invitations, party favours, flowers, cakes, photography and even wedding licenses all under one roof. But his focus remains on dresses.L.A Collection is the largest bridal store in the city with thousands of dresses to choose from for weddings, bridesmaids, graduations and evening wear, sizes range from 0-30. A big selection of men’s tuxedo rentals is also available. Luong moved his store from a cramped 2200 square foot location on Graham Avenue to a spacious 7900 sq ft one on Portage Avenue two years ago. With the added space came more dresses and eight large fitting rooms. Luong now carries three times the inventory from his old store, which means last minute shoppers who are in a pinch have thousands of dresses to choose from. Because of the partnerships Luong has formed with other bridal services, he is able to offer everything at competitive prices. His wife, Yen, does all the fittings and alterations in store so customers can get the perfect fit quickly and easily. Luong said the best thing about having a downtown location is the hustle and bustle of people on the streets, and that fact that he is in a central spot for people. L.A Collection located at 325 Portage Avenue, right across from the MTS Centre, and is open six days a week, Monday to Saturday, and sevens days a week in January to May to get ready for the busy summer wedding season. After hour appointments for fittings are also available. Some of L.A Collection’s fashions can been seen at Blush Ultraclub on October 10, when Luong will be putting on a fashion show with The Heart and Stroke Foundation and Q94 FM’s Cory and Fiona.
