Q & A with Value-Plus Guitars

So, give us the lowdown on Value-Plus.
We take pride in selling the BEST MUSICAL EQUIPMENT for the BEST PRICE and we boast over 32 YEARS of knowledge and experience to back it up.
Customer service has always been our first priority and has been our key to customer satisfaction since we went into business in 1977.

It seems like you guys have quite a history! What makes Value-Plus so unique?
We offer a huge selection, and we are committed to doing this "ALL THE TIME", not just at "SALE" times. Keeping this Mom and Pop attitude has kept our customers coming back time and again. We operate a full service guitar repair shop as well.

And when did you open your new location at 266 Portage?
We opened June 2009 and our years of experience make your visit a good experience. We are anticipating our first Christmas at our new location and we expect to have draws and lots of other exciting promos.

What’s the latest thing shaking at Value-Plus?
Our satisfied customers spread the word about Value-Plus Guitars, and in turn, we shop with their friends for a GREAT DEAL. If you have visited or shopped the “PLUS”, you have experienced this first hand. If it is your first time in, you'll be amazed at our stock of new, used and demo guitars at everyday discount prices.

Over the years we have become a more musical guitar shop – customers buying their first guitar and then trading up to a better guitar and then bringing in their friends and family to appreciate our great experience. Now with our Portage location we will be continuing our great service and selection.

So what made you guys “do downtown”?
Our building was sold to make way for the revitalization of [North] Main. We wanted to move downtown and still be close enough for our customers to find us. We are thrilled many customers say we are closer for them now.

And what do you like about your downtown locale?
We moved downtown because we wanted to be there for our customers. It is centrally located. We thought of the suburbs but thought against it. The spot we found was empty for many years and we hope with our presence it will help with the revitalization process. We like the action and the presence of the working clientele on their lunch stroll.

Okay, now some questions about the future!
Where do you see downtown in the years to come?
In the years to come we hope to see more access to parking and more people living within walking distance [of the downtown] and therefore more and more business.

And what do the cards hold for Value-Plus?
We see the downtown improving and us improving with them. We will continue to monitor what our customers require and attempt to fulfill their requests. Our uniqueness is that we are a small business so we have a hands-on appreciation of what we require to make our customers happy. Because we are small we get to know our customers on a first name basis and we get to know what they like.

Value-Plus is open Monday – Friday from 9:00am – 5:30pm and Saturdays from 9:00am – 5:00pm.
