Downtown Winnipeg BIZ Member Research Survey The Downtown BIZ regularly polls its members on delivery of programs, issues that are important for businesses, and attitudes about downtown. This is an important feedback mechanism used by Downtown BIZ to keep a finger on the pulse of its members. The last survey was conducted by Blacksheep Strategy in February, 2004, the results of which fed into the development of Downtown BIZ’s three-year Strategic Plan. It is now three years later and Downtown BIZ is once again looking for feedback from its members to help guide the development of the next three-year strategic plan. Blacksheep Strategy was once again engaged to conduct this tracking research, and did so in June, 2007. OBJECTIVES: The objectives of the membership survey were: • To gain feedback from downtown businesses about BIZ programs, overall satisfaction with the Downtown BIZ, important issues, and attitudes about downtown Winnipeg; • To use the feedback as a basis for the three-year Strategic Plan; • To apply the results to make Downtown BIZ programs and advocacy stronger; • To track progress and benchmark responses over time; and • To gain a better understanding of attitudes of sub-groups within downtown businesses in order to better meet their needs and to determine strategic opportunities.
