Background
Millennium Library Park is a city-owned and operated green space in the heart of downtown Winnipeg. In a sea of buildings and surface parking lots, it is the only accessible public park near Millennium Library, the MTS Centre, cityplace, Place Louis Riel and several residential high-rise complexes. Central to many Winnipeg destinations, the park is a short walk from cultural landmarks such as The Forks, Portage and Main, Broadway, the Legislature, Winnipeg Art Gallery, Exchange District and Royal
Winnipeg Ballet.


Purpose
Recent renovations of the Millennium Library presented an opportunity to rejuvenate the adjoining 37-year-old Millennium Library Park. Over the last three years, the City of Winnipeg, the Province of Manitoba and the federal government have pledged over three million dollars towards the new park. We’d now like to involve the public in the making of the park through sponsorship opportunities. The result will be a revitalized and actively programmed urban green space, where visitors and locals can explore the diversity, creativity and richness of Manitoba’s arts, literature and landscape.

Vision
The City of Winnipeg, the Winnipeg Library Foundation and the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ have worked together to design and program a space that focuses on community, literacy and environmental stewardship. We invite you to be a part of this new and exciting initiative by donating a piece of site furniture in your own name, or in the name of someone you love.
