Nine new large sculptures--including a a large dog and a bunch of candy hearts--are on display along Portage Avenue Graham Avenue until October 31, 2008. The whimsical sculptures were created by 9 University of Manitoba young sculptors, who were given carte blanche to design their works of art. Art on the Avenue is presented by the Downtown BIZ.

All sculptures were created by University of Manitoba School of Fine Art students under the direction of Professor Gordon Reeve. Most sculptures were carved from a Styrofoam block, covered with a hard coat and painted. There are also some metal sculptures and one stone sculpture.
